Hello and welcome
08/08 Objection to the admission arrangements of St Anne's CE VC Primary School
Objection to the admission arrangements of St Anne's CE VC Primary School, South GloucestershireThe Office of the Schools Adjudicator has today published a decision on
an objection by the governing body of St Anne's CE VC Primary School to
the admission number set for them by South Gloucestershire Council
The adjudicator, Dr Elizabeth Passmore partially upheld the objection.
The previous admission number at the school had been 60 places. The
local authority, in an attempt to reduce surplus places at four local
schools had reduced the intake number to 30. This would then be the same
for each of the four schools.
Dr Passmore agreed that the figure of 60 was too high, but projections
of places for 2007 onwards indicate that 30 would be too low to give
parents a reasonable expectation of having their preference met for a
place at St Anne's. After meeting with the school, diocese and local
authority the adjudicator determined an admission number of 45.
